Building Materials: Rcc, glass, paint, aluminium, tile etcDesigntex Group, a rapidly growing readymade garment manufacturing company foresaw the upgrading of its production facility to be competent to the competitive production market and meeting all compliance requirement of the buyers. In order to reinforce the brand image and adapt to a maturing economy they planned this state of the art for production facility where the production, ware housing, utility services and workers convenience are properly installed. The 30000 sqm facility represents a collaboration between the owner and the workers that integrates the production, brand building with the wellbeing of the employees.
To optimize the built area all the functions are gathered into a complex leaving almost 50% of the site to be vacant. After detailed study of production, operational efficiency the design of the complex responded with detail research and understanding the movement of the workers within and in between spaces. The principal objective of the project was to establish a sound environment for the workers which will be integrated in a complex accommodating necessary built forms. The complex was designed incorporating a production building, facility building, ware house, utility building, waste disposal building, gate house, ETP etc. The key of the complex was designed taking all initiatives to be a LEED Certified building and finally achieved the LEED Gold Certification.
After entering into the complex through the gate house, the workers move to the facility building walking through the shaded walkway. The 10 meter high entrance lobby is on the west side of the building which takes the workers and the visitors into the building by two stairs and elevators. The main reception area is on the ground floor of the production building. The main office is located on the roof top and the helipad is on the top of the office.
